I get the reason for the running clock but it just seems really odd to have two halves instead of three periods. Why can't the games be three periods at 18 minutes each?

I get the reason for the running clock but it just seems really odd to have two halves instead of three periods. Why can't the games be three periods at 18 minutes each? We play two halves to make it equally fair for both teams due to the elements of the outdoors, especially sunlight and wind. |
